In an effort to help local residents get rid of some discarded tires on their properties, the City of Lamesa is planning two different collection stations this Saturday, Nov. 10, and next Saturday, Nov. 17.
Roll-off containers will be located in the parking lot of the City of Lamesa Public Swimming Pool, 701 North 22nd Street, and the east parking lot of Lamesa Middle School, North 2nd Street and Bryan Avenue.
Both locations will be open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. only on those two Saturdays.
Only residents of Lamesa and Dawson County will be allowed to unload tires into the roll-off containers for disposal. The residents will be required to do all of the unloading of tires from their vehicles into the containers.
No commercial businesses or contractors will be allowed to drop off tires.
Only pickup and passenger tires, which are not mounted on any rims, will be accepted.
There will be no fee for those residents who pay monthly solid waste fees.
