A local resident is facing felony charges for possession of stolen property after a number of items were recovered this past week from three different locations, according to information from the Dawson County Sheriff Office.
Joey Lopez, 42, of Lamesa, was arrested on Tuesday after a search and arrest warrant was obtained by Deputy Jimmy Salazar for two residences located at 310 North Avenue O and 402 North Avenue O, Sheriff Matt Hogg said.
Salazar and other deputies executed the search warrants and arrested Lopez. Officers with the Lamesa Police Department were called to assist with the search warrant.
Items that had been reported in at least two county burglaries and several city burglaries were recovered during the investigation, Sheriff Hogg said. Those stolen items included furniture and household items.
Chief Deputy Josh Peterson said deputies also discovered a stolen vehicle in a barn behind the residence at 310 North Avenue O.
“All of the deputies involved in this investigation did an outstanding job,” Sheriff Hogg said. “I’m really proud of the work they did.”
