Local voters will have the opportunity this coming week to hear from all candidates in contested races for the offices of District Judge and District Clerk for the upcoming March 6 Primary Election.
A Candidates Forum will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Forrest Park Community Center in Lamesa. That forum is being sponsored by the Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce.
“We encourage everyone to plan on coming out and meeting these candidates before going to vote in the (March 6 Primary) election,” Chamber President Sandra Adams said.
Questions from the public in regard to the offices of District Judge and District Clerk are being accepted by the Chamber for possible consideration, Adams said, but she stressed that the questions should not be about a particular candidate but only about the office itself.
Adams said a form for questions is available at the Chamber office or the questions can be brought in on a piece of paper and the office staff will put it on a form.
Each candidate for District Judge and District Clerk will be asked a total of five questions, two of which they will be given ahead of time, Adams said. The remaining three questions will be selected from those submitted to the Chamber and asked of the candidates at the forum.
