    Memorial services for Melvin A. Morris, 74, of Wake Village, Texas will be held on Saturday, February 25, at 10:30 a.m., at Redwater Baptist Church, Redwater, Texas.
    Melvin passed away on Feb. 6, 2017, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. He was born on July 15, 1942, in Floydada, Texas to Howard and Gladys Morris. He married Linda Spears on July 9, 1966, in Pawnee Oklahoma.
    Melvin grew up in Welch, Texas and attended Dawson Schools. He worked at Orr Chevrolet in Texarkana before opening his own diesel mechanic shop. He later also worked LSI at Red River Army Depot. Melvin will always be remembered for his deep love of his wife, sons, and entire family.
    Those left to cherish Melvin’s memory are his wife, Linda Morris, of Wake  Village;  sons, David Morris (Cheryl) of Texarkana, Randall Morris (Donna) of Maud, Texas and Mike Morris (Polly) of Hot Springs, Arkansas; brothers, Howard Morris (Lela) of Krum, Texas, Roy Morris (Ann) of Stillwater, Oklahoma, James Morris (Louise) of Henrietta, Texas, Terry Morris (Gayle) of Lamesa, Texas and Keith Morris (Lavonda) of Woodrow, Texas; sisters, Donna (Harold) Sorrell of Perry, Oklahoma, Joyce Straley of Adamsville, Texas, Mary Ann (Jerry) Wilson of Comanche, Texas, Marcia (Gery) Straley of Wolfforth, Texas and Linda Mayfield of Kennedale, Texas; sister-in-law, Oouita Morris of Lamesa, Texas;  brothers-in-law, Elton (Betty) Spears of Pawnee, Oklahoma and Leslie Spears of Pawnee Oklahoma; sisters-in-law, Sylvia (Wayne) Rosenthal of Wagner, Oklahoma and  Cleta (Bill) Kirkpatrick of Ponca City, Oklahoma; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.  
    Melvin is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Arlen Morris.
