    Mary L. Kirkpatrick Franklin, formerly of Lamesa, Texas, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017.
    A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 21, at Dawson County Cemetery, 1010 County Rd 20, Lamesa, Texas 79331. The family is requesting that you join them to share memories at the Second Baptist Church, 1705 North Bryan Avenue, at 2 p.m., following the service.
    Mary was the fourth child born to Jewell Grant Kirkpatrick and Katy Nancy Burk Kirkpatrick on September 23, 1924 in Hillsboro, Texas. She married Duel Elwood (Curley) Franklin on December 10, 1943 in Dallas, Texas. He died on July 24, 1992.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Jewell and Katy Burk Kirkpatrick; siblings, Louise Walker, James Otis Kirkpatrick, Catherine Bean, Lois Allen, Gloria Fields and Kenneth Kirkpatrick.
    Mary is survived by her children, Wallace and Paula Franklin and Valton and Kandy Franklin of Trophy Club, Texas, Coquessia (Coque) Franklin Lawson and husband, Billy, of Riesel, Texas, and Kimmie Franklin Etheredge of Grandview, Texas; sister, Precious Pearl Sheets of Seminole, Texas; grandchildren, Chad and Chrisa Oakley of Trophy Club, Texas, Kama and Jamie Hoover of Riesel, Texas, Lance and Mistelle Oakley of Trophy Club, Texas, Robyn and Brian Neuhoff, of Dallas, Texas, Kyla and Jason Dieterich of Otto, Texas, Tanner and Maci Etheredge of Prosper, Texas, Kandace and Brad Collins of Grandview, Texas, Kacy Franklin of Dallas, Texas, Tucker and Keli Etheredge of Grandview, Texas, and Austin and Carla Franklin of Dallas, Texas; great-grandchildren, Madelyn Neuhoff, Braxton, Breely, and Brecka Oakley, Cade and Maddox Oakley, Lawson Neuenschwander, Kyson, Kolt and Kerrigan Dieterich, Cason and wife, Kayla, Keaton and Cash Etheredge, Carter, Codi and Kenna Collins, and Caleb Etheredge; one great-great-grandchild, Ella Kate Etheredge; her faithful dog, Buffy; as well as her many friends at Groesbeck LTC in Groesbeck, Texas; and many  nieces and nephews.
