Lee C. Saenz
    Services for Lee C. Saenz, 63, of Brownfield, will be held on Saturday, Feb. 18, at 1 p.m., at Calvary Baptist Church of Brownfield. Officiating will be Pastor Ovidio Martinez and Associate Pastor Jr. Martinez with music by His Boys.
    Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery in Brownfield. Arrangements are under the direction of Head Duarte Funeral Home LLC of Brownfield.
    Viewing and prayer services will be held on Friday, Feb. 17, from 6 until 8 p.m., at The Calvary Baptist Church of Brownfield.
    Mr. Saenz died on Wednesday, Feb. 8,  2017 in Merkel.
    He was born on Tuesday, March 10, 1953 to Librado and Olivia C. Saenz in Denver City. He attended Seagraves High School up to the 8th grade and at the age of 13 he was withdrawn from school to help his parents work and support his siblings. He married Estela Martinez on Nov. 24, 1974 in Brownfield.
    He worked several jobs, including BE Implement of Brownfield for 11 years as a truck driver and shop foreman; Halliburton Energy Services for seven years as a pump truck operator; and 16½  years for the City of Brownfield as a maintainer operator.
    He was a member of Templo Sinai A/G, where he served in playing on the worship team and prior to that for many years at “Sendero/Pathway” A/G in Seagraves under Pastor Ovidio Martinez. He played with several gospel groups throughout the years, including “Conjunto Filadelfia,” “Los Nazarenos” and “The Saenz’s Brother’s.”
    Survivors include his sons,  Lee Saenz Jr. of Andrews, Pete Saenz of Brownfield and Noe Saenz of Midland; sisters, Stella Williams and Liz Moreno, both of Georgetown, Irene Martinez of Lamesa and Alicia Morey of Brownfield; brothers, Jesse Saenz of Grapevine, Rudy Saenz of Odessa and Dano Saenz of Lubbock; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Librado H. and Olivia C. Saenz; and one brother, Peter Saenz.
