The majority of this past Monday’s combined board meetings of the Lamesa Economic Development Corporation and the Lamesa Economic Alliance Project were spent in review of existing and pending projects.
Members of those boards members were sworn into office just last month after being appointed by the Lamesa City Council following the removal of all sitting board members in August.
Scott Leonard, president of both the LEDC and LEAP boards, said Monday that he is going to try and run both board meetings concurrently with separate motions considered by each board.
“If it doesn’t work, speak up, and we’ll go back to separate meetings,” Leonard told the other board members.
Since all the board members are new and not familiar with the existing projects under contract with the LEDC and LEAP, as well as any pending projects for consideration, Leonard called for those projects to be reviewed at Monday’s meeting.
