With only two action items on the Lamesa school board agenda for this Thursday night, most of the board’s evening will be spent listening to reports from various staff members.
Among those expected to report to the board include campus principals, Assistant Superintendents David Rodriguez and DeAnn Drake and Human Resources Director Rick Berry.
Superintendent Jim Knight will give a legislative update, an update on Policy 107, a District of Innovation update and an Lamesa Economic Development Corporation-LISD partnership.
The board will consider action to approve the conveyance of a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria from the City of Lamesa and consider approving a donation from the Dawson County Adult Probation Office by Julie Miller.
“Adult probation is giving a donation. If I remember right, about $500. According to board policy the board has to accept the donation. This policy is common to all districts, mainly to ensure all donations to the district are vetted and proceed through the appropriate channels,” said Knight. “The city is essentially donating an old Crown Victoria police car for our resource officers to use to move from campus to campus. Currently we only have one vehicle for the police car.”
School board meetings are open to the public. Thursday’s meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the Lamesa ISD board room.
