Airport Recognized By State
Representatives of Lamesa Municipal Airport, including city and county officials, were in Austin this past week to receive the state award recognizing the local airport as the 2017 Airport of the Year by the Texas Department of Transportation. Since the airport is jointly owned by the City of Lamesa and Dawson County, operation of the airport is overseen by board members who are appointed by both the city and county’s governmental entities.
